Savile was originally built as a 12-room hostel with a three room flat on the top floor for one of the resident tutors.  In later years it was converted into three more student bedrooms, hence the slightly unusual layout.

[It’s named after the Savile family – another wealthy land-owning family, neighbours with extensive estates near Barnsley.]
